Sweatiquette
Your Guide to Getting HUHT
Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned sweater, we believe sauna time is for everyone. To make sure everyone has the best possible experience, we’ve put together some ground rules—aka Sweatiquette. Read them, respect them, and we’ll all have a sweaty good time. All are welcome!
-
Shower First, Sweat Later
Clean bodies = clean benches. Please arrive freshly showered (or rinse off if we’re near water). This keeps the air clear and the vibes fresh.
-
Towels Are Your Best Friend
Sit on a towel—always. It protects the benches and keeps things sanitary. Bonus points if your towel is big enough to wrap under your feet too.
-
Leave the Scents at Home
No perfumes, colognes, oils, or strong body products. Let the cedar, heat, and steam do the talking.
-
Respect the Löyly
Throwing water on the rocks? Infusing essential oils? Ask the group first. A little steam is great. Too much can overwhelm the vibe. And some folks are sensitive to scents.
-
Dress Down (with Respect)
Swimsuits or workout attire are the standard. Arrive ready to disrobe easily—changing on-site can be awkward in close quarters.
Also, leave your jewelry at home—metal heats up fast and can burn your skin.
-
No Booze, No Smoke
No alcohol, no smoking, no substances of any kind—before or during your session. Saunas are for clarity, not clouds.
-
Mind the Time
Stay as long as feels good for your body, but don’t monopolize space if others are waiting. Step out, cool down, re-enter—it’s a rhythm.
-
Phones
This is a mostly phone-free zone—unless everyone in the sauna gives permission and it’s just a quick snap. Or if you’re alone or with friends - capture the vibe, then tuck it away. Lithium ion batteries and heat don’t like each other.
-
Consent is Cool
Don’t touch, adjust the fire stove, throw in a log (especially with a Sauna Host present). Simple rule: ask before you act.
What to Bring
A water bottle (keep metal bottles on the floor to avoid burning yourself)
A large towel to sit on (and maybe another to wrap in)
Hydrate before and after—sauna time is sweaty time
A change of clothes or a robe if you plan to rinse or cool down afterward
Forgot to bring water or a towel? We always have backups on-site.
